Walking into this much loved restaurant in the Southern Vales that for the last 18 months - 2 years, has been under the stewardship of chef Karena Armstrong and her husband Michael.
They have stamped their love of coming home with a vibrancy in the building and a menu that is a true delight; Karena has cooked with some of the great women chefs of this country, including Kylie Kwong, Alla Wolf Tasker and Karen Martini.
Karena's food is fresh and local, aided by a half acre garden she is tending, and in that spirit of sharing that is so part of the food world, Karena gave me the photographed ‘necklace’; a vegetable I haven’t yet grown but was part of my sashimi entrée; it’s a tromboncino. Not sure of the spelling, but a veg that can be shaved and served raw, or pan fried or baked.
